Yes, the airport is for sale and we are looking at a new location for a private club, not far away. I am looking for a few good investors that may want to get involved in a private club with 20 acres that we can develop just as a fun place. It would be a home to our club. The investors would be the board of directors and the members would pay dues to utilize the park. If this is something yu may be interested in send me an email. Wayne@WayneReed.com
I have been talking to our group of PPG pilots and we have decided to start a club, Pine Island Recreational Club. We will be charging $30 per month for membership dues. The dues entitle PPG pilots to utilize the airport for flying from, which helps support the rebuilding of the airport. We have also decided to expand on this as I have been approached by numerous people to utilize the airport for many purposes. Some of these uses are: Running Track; Dog Walk; Off road bike path; Tent Camping; Family Outings; Remote Control Cars, Planes and Boats; Horse Shoes; Basketball; Baseball; Paint gun activities; Archery and many other quiet and fun activities. In the near future we may even have Racquet Ball Tennis, and other indoor sports. If this is something you have an interest in, we welcome your comments. We also welcome you to join.
I am also fixing up more golf carts and we have a loaner Van for people that fly in and need island transportation. Just a few projects I am working on so you don't think I am goofing off. :-) Heck, we may even plant a few fruit trees.
